Police arrest man as he tries to burn marijuana crop

Where there’s smoke, there’s marijuana.

At least in a recent case, where members of the Salmon Arm RCMP arrived at a residence with a search warrant only to find the residents tending to a marijuana-fueld bonfire outdoors.

The incident took place Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 247 Kault Hill Road.

As a result of the blaze, the fire department was called in.

Police seized 75 plants and arrested a 25-year-old man for production of marijuana. He was held in custody, but has since been released pending a court date on March 29.

The owner of the property across the street is also being investigated for marijuana growing.
