On August 13 at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Salmon Arm RCMP pulled over a vehicle for speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway near 30th Street SW.
As a result of the traffic stop the driver produced a driver’s licence that was not believed to be his and police determined the plates were not registered to the vehicle.
In the ensuing investigation, the male driver’s identity was determined and he had warrants for his arrest in Alberta and B.C.
The vehicle was determined to have been stolen in Calgary over a month ago and a stolen high-end bicycle was located in the vehicle along with what is believed to be stolen ID from a number of people who reside in B.C. and Alberta.
The male is being held in Salmon Arm awaiting appearance in court to answer to the arrest warrant in BC as well as new charges pertaining to possession of stolen property.
