Kelowna RCMP are searching for a young man with schizophrenia who is missing and off his medication.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, 18-year-old Jonah Bohn got into a verbal argument at his family home in the 1700-block of Smithson, where he resides, put on his rollerbaldes and left, refusing to take his medication. He has not been seen since.

“Bohn was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia and requires regular medication to prevent a highly agitated unstable state,” said Const. Kris Clark, RCMP spokesperson, in a press release issued Monday.

During the regular Monday press briefing, Clark confirmed that while not all schizophrenics have trouble staying a on a medication regime, part of Bohn’s illness has included having difficulty sticking to his medication and without the drugs he is potentially dangerous to himself and others.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
