Residents of a Westgate home received a triple whammy after discovering a break and enter early Sunday afternoon.

Not only was the glass on the patio door smashed, but the culprit had also poured bleach around the home and then stole an Xbox gaming system.

According to RCMP, the theft was discovered at 12:30 p.m. and occurred in the 300 block of Westgate Road.

On Jan. 5, at 11:29 a.m., police received a report of a B&E at Strategic Forest Management on Ironwood Street. Investigators found that the previous night, at 9:56 p.m., an intruder cut through the fence into a secure compound and removed a 9.9 hp Mercury outboard motor. Anyone with information regarding these break-ins is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Van, fishing gear stolen

 

On Jan. 5, at 7:30 a.m., RCMP received a report of a theft of vehicle from the driveway of a residence on Northmore Road.

The owner reported that overnight a 2001 Ventura van was stolen. This vehicle was later located in the ditch on Duncan Bay Road.

Also that day, at 3:45 p.m., police received a report of theft from a boat parked at a residence on Vigar Road. A suspect entered the property and stole two downriggers and a GPS Unit.
