100 Mile House RCMP responded to 84 complaints and calls for service during the past week.

100 Mile House RCMP reminds motorist and caregivers that school starts on today (Sept. 4) in the 100 Mile House area.
School speed zones are in effect again. There will be enforcement in the various school zones over the coming weeks.
Tickets galore
During the Labour Day long weekend, 100 Mile House RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic Services issued 25 tickets for speeding, eight tickets for other Motor Vehicle Act offences and five written warnings.
They reported heavy traffic flow on Highway 97 during the three-day weekend.
Business vandalism
Around 1:20 a.m. on Sept. 2, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a window glass-break alarm at a business in the 300 block of Birch Avenue.
Investigators determined the window had been kicked and a footwear impression was visible.
Another officer located two people in the proximity of this incident who had been consuming liquor. Both were detained.
Open liquor was seized from the adult male and his footwear matched the impression on the window. One charge of mischief under $5,000 will be recommended to Crown against a 19-year-old male resident of Watch Lake.
The investigation into this incident is continuing.
Pole broken
On Sept. 1, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a collision on First Street at Cedar Avenue in 100 Mile House.
The driver of commercial vehicle was attempting to turnhis tractor-trailer unit around in a parking lot when he hit and broke a utility pole. Both Telus and the District of 100 Mile House responded to the collision and the street was closed while the utility pole was repaired.
Charges are not being considered against the driver of the tractor-trailer.
No insurance
On Aug. 27, 100 Mile Traffic Services were conducting patrols on Highway 24 near Lone Butte.
The investigator observed an older Volvo swerving over the centreline. The vehicle was stopped just west of Lone Butte.
The vehicle had two different licence plates. Neither of these licence plates had active insurance.
The male driver was issued a violation ticket for operating a vehicle without insurance. The vehicle was not towed.
On Aug. 31, 100 Mile RCMP were called to a vehicle flipped over on its roof in the ditch beside Garrett Road in Lone Butte.
Upon attending the scene investigators determined there was no one around the vehicle and the engine was cold. The vehicle contained evidence of open liquor.
Investigators checked with the 100 Mile District General Hospital, but no people had been admitted for being in a collision.
The vehicle was towed from the scene. The investigation into this collision is continuing.
