Vehicle impounded after impaired test

An officer driving south on Highway 17 near Amity Drive noticed an erratic driver shortly before 10 p.m. on Sept. 27. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be impaired by alcohol. A roadside breath test was administered and the driver was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and 30 day vehicle impoundment.

 

Dogs called on Dunsmuir break and enter

Sidney North Saanich RCMP called on Saanich K9 Unit after a break and enter on Sept. 25, 2016 at 10 p.m. Police were called to Dunsmuir Lodge for a report of a mulitple-hit alarm. With the help of the Saanich Police K9 Unit, inside, police discovered, two 33 year-old men and a 31 year-old woman. One of the individuals is an Australian tourist, the other two are of no fixed address. All were released on charges of breaking and entering.

 

Officer doubles up on impaired stops

Police on patrol near the Tsawout First Nation saw a vehicle parked and running just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 27. They found a man outside had care and control of the vehicle and issued a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition after he failed a breath test. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Shortly after 2 a.m., not far away, officers noticed a vehicle pass with no tail lights. The vehicle was stopped and it was determined the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was affected by alcohol.

After a failed roadside breath test, the driver was issued a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition and the vehicle was automatically impounded for 30 days.
