Police briefs: WorkSafe BC called after construction accident

Stolen bike, myriad traffic tickets issued in road block

WorkSafe BC called in on construction site

Oak Bay Police were called to a workplace incident in the 2200 block of Cadboro Bay Road the morning of Aug. 24. It was reported that a worker was struck in the head with a large plank of wood on the construction site. The injured worker was laying on the ground, conscious and breathing when police arrived. The worker was transported to the Victoria General Hospital. The incident is still under investigation and has been reported to WorkSafe BC.

Stolen bike offers security message

Oak Bay police remind residents to secure bikes after a thef reported Aug. 24. The bike stolen overnight from the 2000 block of Milton Street. The bicycle was placed on a bicycle rack attached to a vehicle.

Seven tickets on Beach Drive roadblock

On Aug. 25, the Oak Bay Police conducted a roadblock in the 800 block Beach Drive and issued 7 motor vehicle violation tickets including no insurance, a drug seizure and a three-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
