There were only minor injuries in a fight involving several people and a weapon on Eckhardt Avenue Wednesday afternoon just after 3 p.m.
About a half-dozen RCMP vehicles converged on the scene of the disturbance which apparently involved a youth and older male in the area of Penticton Secondary School.
“We attended and we’re just trying to sort it out now, it sounds like it was difference of opinions resulting in one of the parties coming with a weapon and started striking the other party,” said Staff Sgt. Kurt Lozinski of Penticton RCMP who was on the scene. “We’re just trying to sort it out to see who instigated it and who is at fault and we’ll get it resolved.”
An eye witness said it was the older male who was using the weapon which she described as a stick.
