The Abbotsford Police Department has extended its plea for witnesses in relation to Shaminder Brar‘s hit-and-run death.
Posters have gone up along Riverside Road – one near King Road and another near Vye Road – asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Const. Ian MacDonald said although police have received numerous tips, the driver of the vehicle that hit Brar has not come forward.
MacDonald said there are still gaps in the timeline from when Brar, 34, left her residence on Sunday, Feb. 10 until her body was found by a passing motorist on the morning of Monday, Feb. 18.
The last reported sighting that police have of her is on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m.
“The challenge we’re facing now is the sightings … are sporadic,” MacDonald said.
He said having a detailed timeline of where Brar was each day, and whether she told anyone that she was going to Riverside Road, would help narrow down the time of the collision.
This could then better aid, for example, in linking evidence at the scene with vehicles that were travelling through the area at the time, MacDonald said.
The posters, which were erected on Tuesday, ask for anyone to come forward who might have seen Brar in the area between Feb. 10 and 18. She was wearing a red hoodie and carrying a black jacket at the time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
