Emergency Response Teams descended on a North Delta home on Wednesday afternoon after it was learned a man may have been threatening his family with a knife.
At about 4 p.m., Delta police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 11600-block of 73A Avenue.
While on the way, officers learned the problem had escalated, and people in the home may have been at risk of harm.
When police arrived, they saw several people running from the home. Everyone left the home, except for the suspect.
Investigators then determined the man may have been armed with a knife, and the house was secured.
The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team was called in to assist, and at about 9:10 p.m., they took a 33-year-old man into custody without incident.
Charges are pending.
