Two men are in hospital this week after two separate shootings on the weekend.

One of the incidents involved a Surrey RCMP officer and is being probed by the Independent Investigations Office (IIO).

On Saturday (May 11) at about 7:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP officers responded to a call at the Scott Road SkyTrain Station after reports of a man threatening passengers with a knife.

During a confrontation with police, the man was shot. He was taken to hospital, where he remained as of Monday morning.

The IIO was immediately notified and a team has been assigned to investigate.

At 11 p.m. that same night, police were called to a shooting near Mac’s Convenience Store at 132 Street and 104 Avenue.

Police discovered a man with multiple injuries to the face, neck and chest.

He was taken to hospital in serious condition, but has been stabilized.

Police say he is not being cooperative with investigators.
