North Okanagan RCMP receive complaints about aggressive security pitch

Over the past few weeks, North Okanagan RCMP have received several complaints about an allegedly aggressive sales pitch for security alarms.

“If you do not want the service or product, you can ask them to leave your property. You do not have to put up with aggressive marketing,” said Gord Molendyk, detachment spokesperson.

The police are advising residents to do their own checks for products.

“Ask a neighbour or a friend and check with the Better Business Bureau to see if the company has a good record on customer satisfaction,” said Molendyk.

The security company in question has had a City of Vernon business license for three years.
