Police look for suspect accused of stabbing a man in the neck

Langley RCMP want to arrest Richard Franks, 26, after a man was hit over the head with a bottle and then stabbed in the neck March 27.

Langley RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for Richard Franks who is accused of stabbing another man in the neck with a broken bottle on March 27 in Aldergrove.

Around 8 a.m., police were called to a home in Aldergrove after a man was stabbed in the neck.  It’s alleged that Franks broke a beer bottle over a man’s head and then used the broken bottle to cut his neck, said Cpl. Holly Marks.

“It is believed the two were arguing over property and money,”said Marks.

To date, Franks hasn’t been arrested but is facing a charge of aggravated assault. Police are asking for the public’s assistance to locate him.

Richard Sydney Allen Franks is a 26-year-old Caucasian man of no fixed address; however police believe he frequents the Langley area.

He is 6’2,” 190 pounds, heavy build, fair complexion with brown hair and brown eyes.
