Police looking for backhoe stolen from the Town of Qualicum Beach

On May 1, Oceanside RCMP received a complaint from an employee of the Town of Qualicum Beach regarding the theft of a Caterpillar backhoe.

On May 1, Oceanside RCMP received a complaint from an employee of the Town of Qualicum Beach regarding the theft of a Caterpillar backhoe. Sometime over the previous evening, unknown suspect(s) gained access to the town works yard (233 Fern Rd), stole the backhoe and used it to plow through the locked gates and flee the area.

The CAT 430IT backhoe/loader, is black and yellow, with B.C. licence plate X45907. The model number is TT3035 with number 69 on the side of the boom. It has a replacement value of well over $100,000.
