He entered the Green Timbers Pub Liquor Store on the weekend, produced what looked like a handgun, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police were alerted on Sunday at about 10:30 of the robbery and that the perpetrator had fled on foot.
A pub employee of the 9167 148 Street store in pursuit.
The employee caught up to him, and began taking pictures of him with his cell phone, causing the alleged robber to drop a bag containing an imitation pistol and cash from the liquor store.
Mounties set up a perimeter, and called in the dog squad to track him.
However, the track was lost due to heavy foot traffic in the area.
Police did recover a bag with an imitation pistol and cash from the liquor store.
The perpetrator is described as a Caucasian male, between 17 to 21 years of age, approx 5′ 8″ tall, 135 to 140 pounds, wearing a hat or head covering, a green bandana, a dark shirt and possibly blue jeans.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the male flee from the area, or witnessed the robbery itself, to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
