Police looking for tips on robbery in Rutland

RCMP are searching for an armed suspect after a robbery was committed Thursday afternoon in Rutland.

The Kelowna RCMP responded  Aug 4  at 1:34 p.m., to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Hollywood Deli located at 544 Hollywood Road South.

“Police have determined that the suspect entered the store, produced a handgun and demanded money from the lone store employee,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a press release.

“The suspect fled the scene in a late model Ford pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male;
  • 5 feet 11 inches tall;
  • With a goatee;
  • Wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, a blue baseball cap, black running shoes;
  • Full sleeve tattoo on his left arm;

The suspect vehicle has been described as a silver 2 wheel drive late 1980s model pickup truck, possibly a Ford F150.
