Prowlers target unlocked vehicles

The Uplands neighbourhood was host to a rash of vehicle break-ins last week as nine unlocked vehicles were entered.

Two vehicles in the 3000-block of Cadboro Bay Rd. were entered overnight between Dec. 2 and 3 with personal property stolen from both. Seven additional unlocked vehicles in the Lansdowne slope area were entered overnight Dec. 7.

Laundry room looter

A washing machine was left damaged after a culprit broke in to the laundry room of a residential complex Tuesday (Dec. 4).

It appears the suspect broke into the building in the 1400-block of Beach Dr. through an insecure front door and proceeded to damage the locking mechanism on the machine.

Driver fails to dodge parked cars

Two parked vehicles in the 1900-block of Crescent Rd. seemed to get in the way for one driver just before midnight Friday night (Dec. 7).

At approximately 11:30 p.m. the driver struck the vehicles and fled the scene. A suspect hasn’t been identified, but police say they have strong leads and continue to investigate.
