Perhaps it was supposed to be funny, but it was anything but.

Just after midnight on Thursday, Sept. 19, police received a report that someone had moved traffic pylons in the highway construction at the west end of town. The pylons were rearranged so that they directed westbound traffic into the eastbound lane. Police responded and fixed them.

“This is a very serious matter and police are appealing to the public to identify the persons involved,” stated Staff Sgt. Kevin Keane in a news release.

Shortly after the incident, police spotted a vehicle speeding excessively through the area. The driver was issued a violation ticket and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
