Police release new details in fatal hit-and-run in Abbotsford

Victim has been identified, as well as the type of vehicle involved

Abbotsford Police have released new information related to the hit-and-run collision on Jan. 29 that killed a cyclist on Mt. Lehman Road.

This includes the identity of the victim – 61-year-old Ronald James Scott (in photo), who was riding his bike southbound in the 2000 block of Mt. Lehman Road between 10:45 and 11:15 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle going in the same direction.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have since determined that debris found at the scene of the collision belongs to a Ford F150 pickup truck from the years 2012 to 2014.

Const. Ian MacDonald said major crime detectives are appealing to anyone with information or to anyone who might have been driving in the area around the time of the collision to call 604-859-5225.
