The Cache Creek Library also called to report that the front door had been forced open some time between 5 pm on the 6th and around 10 am that morning. There was no evidence that anyone had entered the library.

The Jehovah Witness church was vandalized sometime overnight Apr. 9-10. Someone had ripped off an outdoor water faucett, pulled out phone lines, broken the glass on the gas meter and damaged signs. Neighbours said they didn’t see or hear anything. Anyone with information on any of the incidents are asked to phone RCMP at 250-453-2216.

Apr. 7 at 1:30 pm a 26 year old Ashcroft man reported that his ex-girlfriend and co-worker was sending unwanted messages to his Facebook page. He was advised to block the 20 year old woman’s messages.

Apr. 7 at 2:20 pm Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on Hwy 99 at Salus Creek for driving at 133 kph in an 80 kph zone. A 49 year old Kamloops woman received a ticket for excess speed and her Pontiac G6 was impounded for seven days.

At 2:26 pm on Hwy 99 and Fontaine Flats a Honda Civic was pulled over for travelling at 130 kph in an 80 kph zone. The 50 year old Marble Canyon man was given a ticket for excessive speed and his car was impounded for seven days.

Apr. 7 at 3:15 pm police were called to an apartment building in Cache Creek after a report that a man was breaking things inside an apartment. Police were told by a witness that a 26 year old man and his brother, both intoxicated, had fought earlier and the brother had punched the man and left. The man’s 18 year old girlfriend advised police that she would like the man removed from the apartment until he was sober. Police found the man passed out in the bedroom; a door had been broken and some blinds were damaged. He was arrested and held overnight until sober.

Apr. 7 at 3:50 pm Traffic Services stopped a 1973 Chev pickup for a seatbelt violation. It was found that the truck only had  lap belts, which were in use. However, the driver, a 52 year old Lillooet man, admitted to having consumed alcohol. He blew a Warn on a roadside sobriety test and was given a three-day driving prohibition. A passenger was allowed to continue driving the truck.

Apr. 8 a Cache Creek woman reported to police that a suspicious man had come to her house the previous afternoon around 1 pm. First he offered her a free 6/49 lottery ticket. When she declined he said her carpets were dirty and offered to clean them. He had no identification and no equipment with him. She refused again and he left. She described him as clean cut with a fair complexion, clean clothes, 5′ 9″, 40-50 years of age, wearing wire rim glasses. She said he got into a burgundy coloured van and drove away, not stopping at any other homes.

Apr. 8 at 9:20 pm police attended the Detachment where a 49 year old Clinton woman was lying in the entrance going into shock, with injuries sustained in a single vehicle collision with a deer. The woman was transferred to the hospital next door. The collision took place on Hwy 1 by Walhachin. Her Pontiac G5 had a broken windshield, a large dent in the driver’s side door and part of the deer’s carcass still attached. There were no charges.

Apr. 8 at 2:50 pm Traffic Services stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy 1 at the Red Hills rest stop. The driver’s license had expired in January but had been cancelled in December. The 28 year old White Rock man was issued with tickets for speeding and driving without a license and was issued with a four month driving prohibition as ordered by ICBC.

Apr. 8 at 5:15 pm Traffic Services stopped a black 2007 Ford Focus on Hwy 1 by Jackass Mountain for travelling at 135 kph in a 90 kph zone. The 51 year old man from Wathus Island was given a ticket for excessive speeding and his car was impounded for seven days.

Apr. 8 at 7:45 pm Traffic Services stopped a Ford F-350 for speeding on Hwy 1 by the Lytton Esso. The 23 year old Richmond woman was given a speeding ticket and a three month driving prohibition as ordered by ICBC.

Apr. 8 at 8 pm Traffic Services stopped a 2006 Audi A6 on Hwy 1 by Jackass Mountain for speeds of 145 kph in a 90 kph zone. The 26 year old North Vancouver man was given a ticket for excessive speed and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Apr. 9 at 5:25 am police received a report of an assault on the Hat Creek Reserve from a man who advised that one of his brothers had hit their mother and caused a bleeding wound on her head. He said his mother and another brother had left the residence and that he was trying to restrain his intoxicated brother until police arrived. The 33 year old subject was found walking down the highway and was arrested. The 60 year old mother refused to be taken to the hospital and had gone to another residence instead. She had sustained only a minor cut and didn’t want charges laid. The matter is still under investigation.

Apr. 9 at 3:30 pm police investigated an abandoned 911 from a cellphone in Cache Creek. The call sounded like a “pocket dial” with soft voices heard in the background. Officers attended the 42 year old woman’s home but she was not located. No trouble had been reported or was found in progress in the area.

Apr. 10 at 4:20 am police received a report of an assault in Cache Creek. The complainant told police that she and a group of friends were walking along Collins Rd. when a drunken male started to chase them. He fled on foot and disappeared among the houses. Officers and a police dog patrolled the area but he was not located.

The complainant said he had attacked a 14 year old female a few nights before that on Stage Rd. between McLean Dr. and Arrowstone Dr., but it had not been reported. The female was interviewed and said the male came out of nowhere and grabbed her arm, forcing her to the ground. He fell on top of her, holding her face to the ground but was scared off by another man. She described him as being in his 40s with a dark complexion and dark shoulder length hair, scruffy and wearing a big back pack. Anyone with information on either of the incidents or the whereabouts of this man are asked to phone the RCMP at 250-453-2216.

Apr. 10 at 11 am Clinton RCMP stopped a 2009 Impala for speeding. The 26 year old driver was found to be under conditions not to have contact with his female passenger, who was also the Registered Owner of the car. Officers noted the odour of liquor on his breath and administered a roadside sobriety test, on which he blew a Warn. He was also on conditions not to consume alcohol. A small amount of marijuana was seized from him. He was arrested for breaching conditions and held in cells overnight.

Apr. 10 at 2 pm police received a report of mischief an a Cache Creek apartment building after someone had thrown bricks through a glass entrance door – from the inside. The matter is still under investigation.

Apr. 10 at 8 pm police attended a single vehicle accident between a Ford Expedition and a deer on Hwy 1 near Walhachin. The vehicle was not drivable and was stopped in the driving lane. Passing motorists helped push the SUV onto the shoulder. The driver, a 67 year old Vernon woman and her passenger were transported to Cache Creek and were uninjured.

Apr. 10 police received four abandoned 911 calls from the pay phone outside of the Grubstake in Cache Creek around 9:50 pm. Another was received at 9:10 pm on Apr. 12 at which time a male voice asked for police, fire and ambulance assistance before hanging up. No one was located in either instance. Anyone with information on males making calls from the pay phone around those times are asked to call the police at 250-453-2216.

Apr. 10 at 10 pm a 47 year old Walhachin man called police to report that he’d been assaulted by his ex-girlfriend’s 16 year old son when he went to her residence on the Skeetchestn Reserve to get his truck. He had a bloody nose and other injuries, but had refused the ambulance. The matter is still under investigation.

Apr. 12 at 1 pm police received a complaint of two men trying to sell stereo equipment from their red Winstar van at the Chevron in Cache Creek. The two men were located and the 37 year old Surrey man produced paperwork showing that he had purchased the equipment legitimately. No action was taken.
