IRP issued

Around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 27, a white Dodge truck crashed into a ditch on Aalton Road near 100 Mile House and then left the scene.

Evidence left behind alerted witnesses that alcohol may be involved and it was reported to police.

The driver was showing signs of impairment, which led to the driver providing breath samples to a roadside screening device.

The driver was found to be impaired by alcohol and he was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) and his truck was impounded for 30 days.

Blown tire

In the early morning hours on Aug. 26, a call was received stating a truck was being driven on its wheel rim.

The abandoned vehicle was located at 100 Mile District General Hospital. It was apparent the vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle incident (MVI) that injured one of the passengers.

The driver and passengers were located nearby, and as a result of the investigation, violation tickets will be issued to the registered owner.

Registered owners can be issued violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act as a result of infractions committed by those operating the vehicle where the driver is not identified and the vehicle is.
