Kelowna RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a purse snatcher.

On Dec. 11, 2011, RCMP received a report of a purse snatching incident from a 62-year-old woman just before 1 p.m.

The woman reported that she noticed a suspicious man following her from JYSK to her car in the parking lot of Superstore on Highway 97.

When the man saw that he had been spotted, he changed directions and walked away.

The woman began quickly loading her purchases into her car; however, the man approached her again and grabbed her purse.

After a brief struggle, the man escaped with her handbag and headed north on Highway 97 in a white car.

The Caucasian man was described to be 35 to 40-years-old and approximately six-feet tall. He has a slim build and straight, sandy hair.

Const. Kris Clark explained that the incident required the services of a police sketch artist and a delay was incurred scheduling an appointment with the victim.
