Terrace RCMP are searching for a suspect in a late afternoon robbery at a downtown jewelry store.
Terrace RCMP inspector Dana Hart said around 3 p.m., the lone suspect entered, smashed the display case, grabbed some jewelry and then fled on foot northbound.
“He is described as a First Nations male, approximately 5 foot seven inches tall, slim build, wearing a ball cap, dark jacket, and light track pants.
The suspect had some kind of weapon with him that he used to smash the display case, he added.
Officers were still at the store interviewing witnesses and looking at video surveillance, said Hart.
Shortly before the Terrace robbery, there was a smash and grab at a jewelry store in Kitimat.
Just before 1:30 p.m., someone smashed a display case at Cook’s Jewellers in the City Centre Mall and removed the contents.
The individual there responsible then fled the store and mall area.
