A woman living in a Willoughby basement suite was violently attacked on June 14, Langley RCMP say.
The victim had met the suspect several days earlier, and offered to let him use the shower in her home, as well as the opportunity to store some of his belongings there, said Cpl. Holly Largy.
However, she became fearful of him, Largy said.
While he was gone from the residence, she moved his belongings outside.
When the man returned, he was upset and accused her of taking a cell phone.
The suspect attacked the woman, grabbed her by the throat and slammed her head into a wall.
A male acquaintance of the victim tried to intervene in the fight, but he was assaulted as well, said Largy.
Police have released video surveillance footage of the suspect.
