Police seek witnesses to incident that left man unconscious outside Abbotsford pub

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying people who may have been involved in, or witnessed, an altercation early this morning (Saturday) outside of a local pub.

The APD and BC Ambulance were called to Sneakers Sports Lounge, located at 2550 Yale Court, at 1:20 a.m.

There, they found an unconscious man in the parking lot.

APD Sgt. Judy Bird said the man was taken to hospital, where it was determined he had suffered significant head trauma.

She said the man appears to have been involved in a fight over who would use a waiting taxi.

Investigators are asking that the people who left the scene contact the APD to provide their version of events.

The APD’s major crime unit is continuing to investigate, and forensic identification officers are collecting forensic and video evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
