Police seeking white Dodge Charger in Surrey teen’s murder

Maria Batalia's father makes a plea for any witnesses to come forward.

Police have released a video of a white Dodge Charger they believe is linked to the killing of Maple Batalia in North Surrey last month.

A surveilance camera caught this video of a white Dodge Charger with a sunroof racing from the scene at the Central City parkade where Batalia was gunned down at 1:10 a.m. on Sept. 28.

She was studying late with friends near the Simon Fraser University campus when she was shot.

Batalia’s father Harkirat Batalita made an emotional plea to the public Friday night for anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle leaving the scence or may know of its whereabouts to contact police.

“I pray to all the good souls of this Earth to come forward,” Batalia said. “Please tell the law what they saw.”

He also spoke directly to the person who killed his daughter.

“I humbly say to the people who harmed my daughter, now to turn yourself to the law,” Batalia said. “There is no way you’re going to hide for long.”
