The search is still on for a suspect linked to a Vernon bank heist.
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for Christopher David Prokopchuk, 32, for an armed robbery at the Royal Bank on Highway 6 July 22.
Few tips have come in since the public was alerted to the warrant.
“We’ve been looking for him for a bit and there’s nothing yet,” said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP detachment spokesperson.
There are no indications as to Prokopchuk’s whereabouts, or if he is still in the North Okanagan.
“He may not even be in town,” said Molendyk.
The RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Prokopchuk but they should only call the nearest detachment and not actually approach the suspect.
“He showed what appeared to be the butt of a gun during the robbery so we have to consider him to be dangerous,” said Molendyk.
Prokopchuk is described as being five-foot-10 and 181 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
He has a Roman numeral tattoo on his left neck and the word “Porkchop” tattooed on his shoulders.
According to police, Prokopchuk has a Canada-wide warrant for a parole violation.
