Portion of Newton Road flooding again

Keremeos Creek is flowing high and backing up into properties on Newton Road

At least two properties on Newton Road have been impacted by the rising flow of Keremeos Creek.

George Bush, director for Area B (Cawston), said water is flowing high in the creek and backing up and coming over Newton Road

Argo and police were on site.

Bush said he wasn’t sure how much damage was done to the two homes. Water is also backing up into a vineyard.

Bush said the plan at this time is to allow the water to go across the road and pool in his hay field.

“My field is already wet,” he said.

Updates will come when available.
