Possible child-luring incident in Maple Ridge

Police say a girl was waiting at a bus stop on 272nd Street on Friday, Oct. 2.

Ridge Meadows RCMP are checking into a report of a possible child-luring incident last Friday morning, Oct. 2.

Police say a girl was waiting at a bus stop on 272nd Street at about 7:30 a.m., when a man in a black car drove up and offered her a ride. He asked the girl twice, but she refused and the man drove off.

Police say they’d like to talk to the man, who was described as being white in his 30s or 40s.

The school board has also been notified.
