The Alexis Creek RCMP seized about $250,000 worth of marijuana near Alexis Creek on Monday.
The pot plants — 250 of them — were found on what police say appeared to be an abandoned property about 45 kilometres from Alexis Creek.
The plants were as tall as four feet and located outdoors.
The RCMP say it was a “sizable grow operation,” and that it appeared the grow op hadn’t been attended to in a few weeks, since some of the plants appeared to be dying off and the irrigation system on the property wasn’t in operation.
The Alexis Creek RCMP are following up with the property owner. No charges have been recommended at this time.
Anyone with information about the incident, or other crimes, is encouraged to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
