Abbotsford emergency personnel were called to the 8500 block of Bradner Road this afternoon (Wednesday) after a number of suspicious containers were found dumped at the entrance to a farmer’s field.

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service Chief Don Beer said Quantum Murray was called in to collect and dispose of the materials. So far, it’s uncertain what is in the containers. Beer said between 12 sealed 45-gallon plastic drums were spotted, along with five five-gallon pails; a lid had come loose from one and a small amount of white liquid was spilled.

Abbotsford Police had both roads accessing the area blocked off while AFRS was investigating. Roads were expected to open in the early evening.
