UPDATE:
1:07 p.m.: Many customers may once again have power, though it will take some time for BC Hydro to update on their site.
12:49 a.m.: The cause of the outage has been updated to be a bird coming into contact with BC Hydro lines. According to their website, when this happens, it means a fuse has blown. To fix the problem, a crew must locate the area in question, repair any damage and replace the blown fuse.
While crews are on their way to assess, there is no estimated time the power will be restored until the assessment has been done, a BC Hydro spokesperson told the Times.
The outage is affecting two groups. There are 459 customers without power south of Clearwater Valley Road, northwest of Highway 5 and east of the Old North Thompson Highway. The other groups affects 1,654 customers west of Raft River Road, south of Clearwater Valley Road and east of Wadlegger Road.

EARLIER:
10:55 a.m.: Many BC Hydro customers in Clearwater may have woken up without power Sunday morning.
The power went out for 2,113 properties just after 10 a.m. from west of Raft River Road to the Old North Thompson Highway.
According to the BC Hydro outage site, crews have been assigned to the issue, which has been noted as a transmission circuit failure. The report was last updated at 10:43 a.m. and there is no estimated time of restoration.
