A tree down across power lines resulted in a power outage to more than 4,000 homes and businesses in Abbotsford and Mission this morning (Friday).

The outage took place just before 8 a.m., according to the BC Hydro website.

The largest portion of the outage – affecting about 3,100 customers  – encompassed an area north of Highway 1 and west of Bodnar Road in Agassiz, although the website didn’t indicate how far into Abbotsford and Mission it extended in those directions.

Power has since been restored to those areas, but another 1,00 homes are still impacted in the area of Mission west of Sumas Prairie Road, south of Kirkpatrick Avenue, east of Stave Lake Street, West of Shook Road and north of Lougheed Highway.

Power is expected to be restored in that area at about 11 a.m.
