Power outages leave Peninsula residents in the dark

B.C. Hydro reports power failures in Sidney, North Saanich and Central Saanich this morning

More than 1,400 people on the Peninsula were faced with power outages this morning, according to B.C. Hydro.

A fire is reported to be the cause of the outage that affected a handful of North Saanich residents in the Kittyhawk and Glamorgan roads area just after 9 a.m. today (Sunday).

Residents of Central Saanich and Sidney were also affected by a yet-undetermined cause. About 1,300 people living between McTavish Road and the Saanich border had outages.
