Events continue through Saturday and Sunday at Trethewey House

  • Jul. 18, 2015 10:00 a.m.

The Fraser Valley Pride Celebration is on this weekend at Trethewey House (2313 Ware St.)

On Saturday, a pride festival will start at 11 a.m. with entertainment, food vendors and community booths. At 6 p.m., a dinner and drag show fundraiser will be held, followed by a dance party presented by Out in the Valley.

On Sunday there will be a queer art exhibit at 6 p.m. followed by an outdoor movie.

The events are organized by Out in the Valley, a society that organizes social events for the LGTBQ+ community, and the Fraser Valley Youth Society, a non-profit charitable organization that provides LGBTQ+ and allied youth with opportunities through workshops, programs and community connections.

All profits from the events will go to FVYS. Out in the Valley has made FVYS their charity of choice, and are partnered with the goal of eventually expanding the society’s programs to include an emergency shelter for LGBTQ+ youth.
