Quesnel RCMP got an assist from their Prince George counterparts this weekend, as RCMP say they arrested a man who was threatening bylaw officers.

“The Prince George RCMP received a report of a man threatening two City of Prince George Bylaw Officers in a parkade in downtown Prince George,” a news release reads. “The man was said to have threatened the officers both verbally and with blunt objects.”

A suspect was located nearby, who police say gave them a different name.

George Alexis, 47, was arrested on several charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The man was wanted by Quesnel RCMP and Price George RCMP say they believe he was breaching probation.

Alexis is scheduled to appear in court in Prince George on Wednesday Aug. 26.
