The Prince Rupert Airport is apologizing after a number of flights to Vancouver had to make their way to Terrace en-route to Vancouver due to an issue with the fuel truck.

“During our daily inspection of the airport’s fuel truck and its supply we detected some discolouration in the fuel line filters. As a normal precaution we have taken the fuel truck out of service while we investigate the cause and remedy it,” reads a statement from the Prince Rupert Airport Authority, noting a replacement truck was brought in and fueling service returned to normal on Sept. 2.

“The Prince Rupert Airport apologizes to its valued customers for any inconvenience caused by not having aviation fuel available at the airport.”

Debra Williams, manager of corporate communications for Jazz Aviation, confirmed that the airline did need to utilize fueling services at the Northwest Regional Airport in the interim.

Hawkair did not immediately return request for comment from the Northern View.
