Following the discovery of two deceased individuals in a Prince Rupert home earlier this month, Prince Rupert RCMP have confirmed those found were a mother and her son.
Prince Rupert RCMP responded to a complaint requesting police check the well-being of the occupants of a residence on the 500 block of Ebert Street in Prince Rupert at approximately 5:20 p.m. on April 3. Upon arrival to the scene RCMP located the residents of the home, a teenaged boy and adult female, deceased.
On April 14, RCMP announced their investigation revealed that the woman took her son’s life before taking her own.
It is with great sadness that we have to inform the community of this incident, and our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic event,
said Const. Matt Ericson, spokesperson for the Prince Rupert RCMP. We are asking the community to please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
Police say they will not release any additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the two deaths out of respect for the family.
A statement released by the family of the mother and son confirmed that 40-year-old Angie Robinson and her 16-year-old son Robert were those found in the home. The family is now calling into question services offered to autistic children and their families in Prince Rupert.
