Princeton women produce amazing results for the whole town

Last year was the most successful ever for the Princeton Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop.

Last year was the most successful ever for the Princeton Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop.

The store generated enough revenue to donate $56,000 to area groups, and also to fund some improvements to the building on Vermilion Avenue, according to Auxiliary member Doreen Poulsen.

Donations were made to Princeton and Penticton hospitals, Meals on Wheels, Princeton Highway Rescue, the Princeton and Erris Fire Departments and many other organizations.

“We are able to do this because of all of you who support us all year long, either by donating your gently used clothes and merchandise, buying from us or both,” said Poulsen. ” Through all the work of our very dedicated volunteers, staff and you,we are able to keep hundreds of thousands of pounds out of our landfill every year.”

The Hospital Auxiliary is always looking for new volunteers, she added. Anyone interested can visit the store or call 250-295-7214.
