Principals on the move within School District 8

Hume and Wildflower will have new principals next September

Hume School and Wildflower will have a new principal next year as School District 8 announced a carousel of moves on Thursday.

Janene Bate Stein will move from Redfish Elementary to Hume in the fall, while current Hume principal Joanne Beddoes will relocate to Creston’s Adam Robertson Elementary.

At Wildflower, Sacha Kalabis will be named the permanent principal after already serving part of this year in an acting role. Former Wildflower principal Naomi Ross meanwhile is now the district vice-principal of SD8’s learning innovations.

Elsewhere,

• Victoria McAllister takes over at Redfish from J.V. Humphries Elementary.

• L.V. Rogers vice-principal Brent Cross is retiring. His replacement has not yet been named.

• Chris Mieske has been named acting vice-principal of Salmo Elementary-Secondary.

• Mike Hurley takes over W.E. Graham, Shellie Maloff leaves Mount Sentinel Secondary for Brent Kennedy Elementary and Ed Nielson joins on as vice-principal of Mount Sentinel, Brent Kennedy and Sequoia.

• Rob Simpson is the new district principal of DESK, Home Links and MyEd.
