It’s tax time in the North Okanagan.
All local municipalities are currently collecting property taxes for 2017 while the provincial government is doing the same for the electoral areas.
City of Vernon 2017 property tax are due on or before July 4 to avoid a one-time 10 per cent penalty. Homeowner grants, if eligible, must also be received on or before the due date. Tax notices were mailed on May 19.
The City of Vernon offers MyCity, a free, secure online service that allows property owners access to information about their tax and utility accounts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Setting up a MyCity account is easy; all you need is your folio/account number and access code located on your bill,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, with the City of Vernon.
