On Tuesday, Amnesty International’s Canadian campaigner on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Craig Benjamin will speak about environmental and indigenous rights as human rights and the relationship to the proposed Prosperity Mine.
A Tsilhqot’in representative will also briefly speak about the new proposal and what it looks like and why the nation remains opposed to the project.
The event, Is the Prosperity Mine a Human Rights Issue?, will be held Nov. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gibraltar Room.
The public is invited to attend.
