So what to do with those boxes of old tax returns, the piles of paid bills – especially the ones from credit card companies – and all those other papers containing sensitive personal information that you’ve been hanging on to for years because you don’t trust putting them in a recycling bin?
Tomorrow (Saturday, May 31), Campbell River Crime Stoppers has a neat solution – just bring them down to the Shredding Event the group is holding in the Strathcona Gardens parking lot, next to the RCMP Detachment on Dogwood Street.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the organization will shred those papers for you on the spot, courtesy of R & R Shredding’s mobile paper shredder.
Shredding is by donation to Campbell River Crime Stoppers.
The Kinsmen Club will be on site as well, cooking up hot dogs and hamburgers, and the Mounties and the Safety Bear will be there in their Red Serge, available for photos.
So gather up those piles of sensitive paper and bring them down to support Campbell River Crime Stoppers.
Small businesses are welcome too.
This event is sponsored by the Campbell River Mirror.
