In Nelson court on Tuesday, the Province of BC pleaded not guilty to eight charges of polluting a stream. The charges stem from an incident in 2013 when a tanker truck overturned into Lemon Creek, spilling 33,000 litres of jet fuel.

The truck’s owner, Executive Flight Centre, and its driver, are also defendants in the case and will enter pleas in Nelson court on March 7.

The trial, for which a date has not been set, is likely to be lengthy: Crown Counsel has said it plans to call 60 witnesses.
