There were a total of 55 calls for service over this period of time. To date, 3,696 incidents have been reported to the detachment (3,920 for the same period in 2010).
Wednesday, Nov. 16
❱ A local business reported a fraudulent use of a credit card. On Nov. 14, a male called and ordered some parts. He stated that he lived at another location and would be in to pick them up. He called back a short while later, once the card purchase had gone through, and advised that he could not pick up the parts and would have a courier pick them up. This male then arranged for an express company to pick up the parts, COD, and drop them at their store in Coquitlam for him to pick up. A male attended the location, picked up the parts and left. On Nov. 16, the male called again and ordered the same parts again. As a result of good work of an employee, it was determined that it was a fraudulent use of a card. The process continued, and when the two males attended to pick up the items, they were met and arrested by the Coquitlam RCMP.
❱ An employee of Vancouver Island University called to report that sometime overnight someone stole copper tubing from their site at the end of Ninatti Rd. Someone cut the copper tubing from their propane tanks that feed the heaters for the buildings.
Thursday, Nov. 17
❱ With the drop in temperatures, a number of traffic accidents were reported on Cedar Road, Yellow Point Road and the Trans-Canada Highway. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
❱ A report of a residential alarm was received in the 4900 block of Brenton Page Road. A B&E was confirmed by the owner. A Sony 42” flat screen television, Acer laptop computer and jewellery such as silver rings were stolen. Point of entry was the front door panel, which was kicked. The culprit then reached inside to unlock the door. The offence was between 9:30 and 10:55.
Friday, Nov. 18
❱ An individual was traveling southbound on Hwy #1 near Grouhel Road in the slow lane. A second driver drove their vehicle in front of the vehicle in an attempt to make a left-hand turn on Highway #1 northbound from Grouhel Road. This resulted in a collision. A Motor Vehicle Act charge is being contemplated.
Sunday, Nov. 20
❱ An individual reported that a prowler had climbed a ladder against the bedroom window and looked inside the house. The incident occurred in the 3000 block of Hallberg Road. A family member yelled out, and the prowler jumped off the ladder and took off running towards Hallberg Road.
Monday, Nov. 21
❱ A B&E was reported into Frank Laird Automotive on Rocky Creek Road. A vehicle was stolen from the premises and recovered shortly after in the community and had not been damaged.
❱ Sometime between Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. and Nov. 21 at 8:30 a.m., a mobile park home that houses employees was broken into. Entry was gained by breaking a side window to the unit. The culprit(s) then climbed into the trailer where three Toshiba laptops were stolen. The business will now be removing all laptops at the conclusion of the work day to prevent similar incidents.
❱ A vehicle was damaged on Malone Rd. A male was later located and arrested, and several charges have been recommended. The male was held for court.
