Public assistance is being sought to determine who started a suspicious fire in Enderby.
Police officers are calling for tips in relation to a March 22 blaze in a unit at the Sleep Right Inn motel on King Avenue just after 6 a.m.
“Anyone who was in or around the area between 5:45 and 6:30 a.m. is asked to call them,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.
The police are also wanting to hear from anyone who may have information on who may be responsible for the fire.
“They (officers) feel there were people in and around the area they may not have spoken to and would like to speak to,” said Molendyk.
“They’re trying to piece together what happened.”
Few details, including how the fire started, have been released.
A 57-year-old woman living in the unit was taken to hospital prior to firefighters arriving on scene. It’s believed there may have been some kind of disturbance before the fire occurred.
Some adjacent motel suites sustained smoke damage.
