Public Works update

Public Works update Barriere Public Works Committee meeting, several reports were received

At the October 24 District of Barriere Public Works Committee meeting, several reports were received regarding different assessments currently underway.  The District Road assessment is in process right now, and should be done in the next month.  The roads become the responsibility of the District as of September 2013, and Council is in talks with MOT to ensure that the roads are in good condition before then.

Now that the water levels have dropped sufficiently, the assessment of the Leonie Dam is underway and should be completed by the end of October.

Staff reported that the repaving of Gilbert Drive has been postponed until spring.

The recycling program seems to be working well, staff will have a report by the next Council meeting.

The next meeting of the Public Works Committee will be at the call of the Chair, and likely not before the elections on November 19.
