A former homeless youth turned entrepreneur has vowed to make a difference.

And he’s coming to Kelowna, Tuesday August 8.

Joe Roberts is paying it forward by pushing a shopping cart 9,100 kilometres across Canada to raise funds to prevent youth homelessness as part of his Push for Change campaign, according to a Push for Change press release.

Roberts will speak during a fundraising breakfast at 8 a.m. at the French Cultural Center before walking three km on Bernard Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds will go directly back to The Upstream Project, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs and Metro Community.

A celebration will follow at the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club Downtown Youth Centre at 10:30 a.m.

By the time Push for Change is in Kelowna, Roberts will have shared his story at more than 450 events.
