A two-year-old Qualicum Beach girl is expected to make a full recovery after being run over by a vehicle Friday afternoon, according to police.
Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman said the young girl returned home Tuesday from B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, where she was airlifted last week.
“She shouldn’t have any long term injuries or problems,” he said. “She’s expected to make a full recovery.”
Foreman said the girl sustained a concussion from the accident and received stitches at the hospital, but is “recovering nicely at home.” Police were called to a home along Widgeon Road in Qualicum Beach Friday where a family friend ran over the young girl.
“It’s not a criminal investigation of any nature,” confirmed Foreman. “It was a complete accident.”
