Qualicum Beach golf course notified restaurant patron tests positive for COVID-19

Staff to self-monitor until Nov. 28, can continue with daily duties

Thalassa Restaurant and the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Course have been notified by Island Health that a patron using the restaurant tested positive for COVID-19.

The patron was in the restaurant on Friday, Nov. 13, between noon and 1 p.m.

Thalassa staff were directed to self-monitor for symptoms until Saturday, Nov. 28, and may continue with daily activities with no need to self-isolate unless symptoms develop.

Island Health has conducted an inspection of the pro shop and Thalassa Restaurant, and both will continue normal daily operations under the advise and direction from public health officials.

The notficiation sent to QBMGC members was not required by health authorities, but done so to maintain open communications with members.
